The International Museum Day is a celebration that is held each year on or about 18 May since 1977. Since it falls on a Friday this year, many of our Museums are moving the celebration to 19 May which means it’s Open House Day (Free entrance) for most of NHB’s as well as some not as well known museums too.
So this Saturday is perfect for getting kids in touch with history, art, culture and natural history.
The museums that are having open house include most of the museums under NHB: Asian Civilisations Museum, Memories at Old Ford Factory, National Museum of Singapore, Peranakan Museum, Reflections at Bukit Chandu, Singapore Art Museum and Singapore Philatelic Museum
18 May also marks the begining of Children’s Season 2012 which will take place from 18 May to 24 June 2012. We enjoyed the Art garden in 2011 and is looking forward to what the museums have install for this year.
