September Holidays

September holidays are around the corner! So we have a whole week with no school for the kids? Perfect opportunity to expose kids to activities that they normally do not engage in. Or use the opportunity to catch up on the academic stuff is necessary.

Here are some programs we like for  kids in kindergarten,  preschools and primary school.

Fly and Make Kites at the Singapore Kite Festival

Check out the beautiful kites and kite flying events at the Festival. These include Guatemalan Kites, turbines and kite flying on sailboats performances from musicians, dancers, puppeteers and magicians. There are also a number of  kite making workshops.

Where: The Promontory at Marina Bay
When: 8-9 September, 4pm until 8pm.

Discover the elegance, refinement, and beauty of Malay culture through dance and other performances.

Learn to Skate and enjoy a Carnival

Skate with Us is organizing a Carnival theme September holiday camp Besides learning how to skate, the full day campers get to enjoy fun carnival games on skates. They get to drink lemonade and play awesome carnival games like Can Can, Dart Balloon, Hoopla, Lollipop game and Circle Race on skates!

For: Kids 3 -12 years old
Where: West Coast Park or East Coast Park
Duration and Time: Half Day, Full Day or 4 Days camp. 10am -5pm.  3, 4, 5, 6 September 2012
Cost: $198 – $518

Make a Race Car Out of Clay

Clay Cove is conducting a 2 session course where kids can make and paint a race car using clay (the kind that will be fired in a kiln after which you can paint glazes over ) Cool way to celebrate F1!

For: Kids 5 – 14 years old

Duration and Time: Choose from a series of One and a half hour camp. Sep 3 & 6 (Mon & Thurs)or Sep 4 & 7 (Tues & Fri).
Cost: $80 for 2 sessions

Learn Acting, Singing and Dancing

Kids Performing is have a 3 days performing arts boot camp. Kids get to learn Jazz moves and other dance, acting and singing.

For: Kids 7 – 12 years old
Where: Millenia Walk
Duration and Time: 9.30 -5.00 pm, 4-6 September.
Cost: $540 for a 3 days.

Go on a Farm tour and brush up on  Chinese

Hua Language Centre is organizing 1 day / 2 days 1 nite farm tours to farms at Kluang, Malaysia.  Trip include visit to goats and ostrich farms as well as organic vegetable and mushroom farms.

For: Kids and Parents
Where: Kluang
Duration and Time: 7am -6pm or overnight ,3 & 4September.
Cost: $$130 – $225 per pax.

More things to do

There are plenty of places to visit and things to do. Here are some ideas:

Visit a Farm, check out the Museum or Galleries, go to an indoor playground, have some fun at a water play place, get some fun at outdoor playgrounds
