The Easter Egg

The tree house stands tall and inviting.

This Easter story by Jan Brett about a bunny, little Hoppi trying to decide what type of egg to make is  full of positive messages.

At first Hoppi thinks he will copy one of the types of eggs being made by the other bunnies. Eventually, he decides that he needs to make an “egg that is right for me”. He also realizes he doesn’t have to win the contest and that he just wants “to make an egg I am proud of.” In the end, he selflessly sits on the mother robin’s dropped but unbroken egg so that she can sit on the two that remain in her nest.

A bonus to the feel good story is the beautiful illustrations. The illustrations in the book are simply amazing, showing many dazzling eggs painted by the bunnies.
