We first come across the book “Snake Bake” by Yukiko Kido from the library when DS was 3. He enjoyed it then. At K1 one he choose it again from the library shelves and we have a great time. I usually need lots of prompting and coaxing to get him to read out loud but he happily read this, laughing and giggling as he reads.
Pictures in the book were very appealing and cute and the illustrations are whimsical and fun. Kids can easily recognize the patterns in words through the rhyming words. This book covers words from the “ake” , “oat” and “ant” word family.
