When it comes to the month long break in June (it’s really 26th May to 24th June this year), planning early for a vacation or putting kids in programs to occupy them never hurts. This year, many providers seems to have launch their programs and camps early. From camps and courses to expose kids to activities that they normally do not engage in to language and math. Here are some programs we like for kids in kindergarten, preschools and primary school.
“Skate with us” is organizing a “Superheroes All Stars Skate Camp” during the June holidays. Besides learning to skate, how to handle slopes, how to handle cyclists and how to overcome park obstacles, full day campers also get to take part in activities like treasure hunt, memory cards game and cape making workshop. Advance skaters get intro to freestyle skating workshop and inline hokey workshop.

Like chess, this ancient game is great for exercising one’s memory, math and strategic thinking skills. Singapore Weiqi Association is a holiday camp to teach the fundamentals of this ancient game.

Go on a Culinary Boot-camp
Learn dishes like Quiche, apple crumble and brownies. Palate Sensations is organizing a a 3 day boot-camp in cooking. You can choose to go for just one day if you want.

Learn about Robots and how to make one.
IN3LABS is organizing a 3 days Robokids Workshop at Peek-A-Boo.
Kids gets to learn about different kinds of robots, how to make one, which include learning about CPU and Motor as well basics on how to program the robot. A the end of the 3 days workshop, kids will be able to construct a robot that can move on its own.

Cook, Rock Climbing, Music and Yoga
Who says you cannot get the best of both or more worlds. The Budding ACES Camp integrate yoga, baking and craft. Kids get to practice yoga, bake and make sushi, learn rock climbing and musical instruments.

Learn cooking from the chefs
What about sending kids to learn how to cook dishes such as Banana-choc tiramisu or Quiche lorraine or learn about history and techniques and baking bread? Camp Asia’s Super Chef Camp is series of camps where kids learn about kitchen safety, proper food handling, food preparation, cooking and baking techniques, presentation and table setting.

Learn Circus Art, Art and Craft, Musical instruments and dance.

Get more practice with Mandarin
Little Mandarin is offering a series of 5 day camps where kids will get to practice speaking in Mandarin through role play, games, art and craft as well as story telling and writing.
