Malacca Trip Part 2: Malacca River Cruise

The River Cruise

Boat Ride! That’s one of the highlights for our Malacca/Melaka trip for our little boy. It’s also a good way to enjoy the main sights around the river.

The 45 minutes cruise takes us along the river along the town of Malacca through sights such as the Pirate Park, Jonker Walk and many beautifully painted graffiti behind the buildings along the river.

The recorded introduction to each of the venues gives us a snippet of history of the many sights of Malacca which have been named heritage city by UNESCO

The boat we ride on for the cruise.

We love the graffiti /murals decorated the buildings along the river. The murals are colorful and  visually captivating.

More pretty wall paintings.

We pass by this big sign on Malacca being a World Heritage City.

We spotted may iguanas by the river during our ride.

We went for the morning cruise and spotted a few iguanas hanging out along the river to my boy’s excitement. The driver of the boat is very nice and try to get nearer so that we can have a closer look.

The Pirate Park in the day.

The boat ride pass many of the attractions at the Melaka city central. It’s a good way see the attractions and we are tempted to stop if our car is not parked at another stop.

A water wheel with the Maritime Museum at the background.

The ride along the river is really value for money. It cost just 10 Rm (about $4SGD ) for adults. 5 Rm (about $1.2 SGD) for kids.
